Rates

Rates are based on the following three categories:

  1. For assisted use: No training; user intends only to obtain data
  2. For training: User is trained on how to use the equipment
  3. For self use: To obtain data only; there is no intent to train the user

All rates listed are subject to change. MIT users who are unable or unwilling to operate the instruments themselves after a reasonable period of instruction will be charged a higher Assisted Use rate for time spent with SEF staff, and will receive the lowest priority in booking of staff time. Rates for all non-academic users are generally 3 times the rates listed below.

FOR NON-MIT USERS

Rates for non-MIT academic use are 1.3x the MIT internal rates. Rates for all other non-MIT use are generally 3 times the internal MIT rates shown in the above chart for internal MIT users.
